About Me

About MeAbout Me

David O'Donnell

I was born into a long line of entrepreneurs. Back through generations, my Father was a builder, and cousins in every direction, all involved in some way in the building industry. In my younger years, I worked on farms and on building sites, so I was no stranger to hard work. I went to secondary school at a local vocational school.

There I studied all the practical subjects, building technology, engineering, technical drawing, and art. When I graduated I planned to go to college to become a building technology and technical drawing teacher. That was short-lived, I finished my exams on a Thursday evening. On my way home I called to a rapidly expanding contracting company, where I had an interview some weeks earlier. I enquired how I did in the interview. I got the job and started the following Monday morning.

I worked in the drawing office under their Electrical engineer. My job involved drawing electrical layouts for heavy industrial installations nationwide.  It involved drawing office and site work. As the company grew rapidly, I got involved in Electrical design and completed numerous design projects. At this stage, the Company had expanded Internationally and acquired major contracts worldwide, mainly in the Middle East and offshore on gas rigs.

The recession was beginning to have a serious effect on the building industry, and as I was frontline I lost my job to redundancy. I then did some contract draughting for just over a year. I then started my own Industrial Sign Company -  Ballyclerahan Enterprises Ltd. The main business was Industrial Engraving using the latest CAD and CAM technology. We later got involved in all aspects of the sign business. It was extremely difficult in the midst of a recession. I built up the business and it is still operating. Our clients range from multinational factories and contractors down to self-employed and the general public.

One recession in a lifetime is bad enough, but to be hit with a second the severest in living memory is unbelievable. Then the unthinkable a pandemic which resulted in a World-wide lockdown. We lost three-quarters of our customers in a very short time. But the knowledge of starting in a recession was enough to keep us going. We did have some multinational factories that got us through the tough times.

Due to these circumstances, I had some spare time on my hands. I was always interested in Internet Marketing and the power of the internet but was too busy working to give it enough consideration. I am in a specialised business that requires me to be hands-on. That involves extra work if you want to make more money. There is only so much work you can do in a day, I needed something I could scale up easily that did not involve working myself to the bone.

As they say  “It never rains but it pours” After getting interested in and involved in online business I focused on affiliate marketing. That is marketing other people's products. I concentrated on well-established worldwide businesses. That is how I got to know two guys Shawn Casey and Brian Koz with over 40+ years of experience between them and millions of dollars in sales I partnered with them. Then I added some more products and services that would be of interest to my target audience, small to medium businesses, and the self-employed. It was not long until I realised the dangers of trading online. After some research, I joined FTC Guardian a business founded by Chip Cooper and his partner Allyn Cutts.  Chip Cooper the number 1 Rated FTC Compliance Training Expert is known as the most sought-after Internet Marketing and SaaS Attorney in the online business community. As I was getting my head around all these businesses I had to figure out how I could promote all of them under one umbrella. The timing was perfect businesses were getting up off their knees and were getting ready to face the economic challenges and the very demanding future.

Things can change fast, since I launched my website in 2019 there was another major challenge GDPR. The worst was yet to come, within a year all our future plans were shattered by COVID-19. Internet Marketing is now more important than ever with the upward surge of people shopping online. The lockdown has resulted in people who never did shopping online embracing this new experience. The majority of these shoppers may never return to regular shopping, or will at least do their research online before they do. Businesses need to introduce marketing strategies that include online marketing if they are to survive. You don't have to figure out all this on your own, all the products and services you need are right here on this website also all the help and backup you will ever need to shorten the learning curve to implement and master all of them.

I am looking forward to promoting TIPPERARYeBUSINESS throughout the Island of Ireland and Worldwide.
